Only weeks after the European Commission unveiled a 400 000 euro revamp of its logo, EU governments have now settled on a new logo for the EU as a whole.
Deciding for a heraldic style to reflect Europe’s long history and the notion of ‘family,’ the new logo is described as:
“Stable door, ajar, and horse, rampant, against azure background with golden mullets.”
They’re still to agree on a motto to go with the new emblem.
The European Commission favours “Nisi pecuniam omnem mihi dabis” (Give me all your money), while Berlin is pushing for member states to agree to “Germania locuta est. Causa finita est” (Germany has spoken. The matter is closed).
